Transforming food waste into renewable resources for a greener future.

At Florida Depac, our mission is to reduce food waste and promote sustainability. We strive to ensure that expired, recalled, or unsaleable food is responsibly managed and transformed into valuable resources.

How It Works!
1. Material Receipt
Palletized loads of expired, recalled, or unsaleable food arrive at our facility. Each load is verified and staged for processing.
2. Manual Depacking
Trained workers manually open boxes and remove food products from their packaging. Organic material is separated from cardboard, plastic, and other non-organic components.
3. Packaging Separation
Packaging materials are consolidated for proper recycling or disposal, while organic food material is collected in bins or gaylords.
4. Organics Processing
Depackaged organic material is transported to composting or anaerobic digestion facilities, where it is converted into valuable end products such as compost, renewable natural gas, or fuel pellets.
Why Manual Depacking?
Manual depacking ensures higher recovery rates, minimizes contamination, and allows a wide range of packaged food products to be responsibly processed — even when packaging types vary.
